Builmix GGBFS is a powder Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag that is used in concrete. It reacts with Ca(OH)₂ to form an additional binder – CSH, which significantly turns down its permeability, resulting in resisting chloride attack and carbonation infusion. Using Builmix GGBFS reduces Portland cement consumption in concrete, resulting in decreased embodied energy, decreased greenhouse gases and use of virgin materials. Moreover, Builmix GGBFS contains no C3A, which makes the end concrete less reactive to sulfates and chemically stable. Adding Builmix GGBFS to concrete improves most of its characteristics, such as impermeability, compressive strength as well as its durability.
